Pooling their technical talents, MagnaChip and DxO Labs are sampling what they are calling an industry breakthrough in the form of a 3.2 Megapixel system-on-chip (SoC) imaging sensor. The MC531EA employs DxO's digital auto focus extended depth-of-field priority, an embedded imaging technology that eliminates the need for a physical auto-focus in camera phones. Specifically, the sensor features full auto-focus functions without any motor or moving parts. MagnaChip’s MC531EA is a 1"/3.2" optical format 3.2-Megapixel CMOS sensor with integrated image processing and compression, one time programmable non-volatile memory, a complete ISP, plus other camera functions. The device also features an ARM7TDMI core that allows for custom-programmed algorithms for auto-function control.
