RF Relay Line Provides Switching From DC To 4 GHz All of the products in an expanded line of RF relays feature enhanced bandwidth performance up to 4 GHz. They also have a metal enclosure for EMI shielding, a ground pin option to improve case grounding, high isolation between control and RF signal paths, and a higher resistance to ESD. Four functional categories, with seven models each, are available: magnetic latching relays, repeatability signal relays, bypass relays, and attenuators.

These RF relays are hermetically sealed in metal enclosures, and they weigh less than 0.16 oz. Their internal welded construction and Uniframe design provide high motor magnetic efficiency and mechanical ruggedness. Contacts are made out of gold-plated precious metal alloy for low contact circuit losses and reliable switching. Available coil voltages range from 5 to 26.5 V dc.

Signal Relay Comes With Surface-Mount Or Through-Hole Terminals The 2 Form C FTR-B4 relay measures 10.6 by 5.7 mm, for a total worldwide standard footprint of 60.42 mm2. It comes available with surface-mount (SMT) or through-hole, SMT-compatible terminals, in nominal heights of 9.7 mm (SMT) or 9.3 mm (through-hole). Also, it has contact ratings of 0.5 A at 125 V ac, 1 A at 30 V dc, and 0.3 A at 110 V dc. These ratings allow the relay to meet IEC60950/UL1950/EN60950 standards for basic insulation and high breakdown voltage. Bellcore and FCC part 68 requirements are met as well.

The device's surge strength between open contacts is 1500 V ac, and 2500 V ac between coil and contacts. The dielectric strength between open contacts is 1000 V ac (one minute). Available for 1.5- to 12-V dc operation, its maximum switching voltage is 250 V ac/220 V dc. It consumes 140 mW standard and 100 mW latching, and its operating voltage ranges from 75% to 150% of the nominal voltage at 20°C. The ambient operating temperature ranges from −40°C to 85°C.

Available immediately, the FTR-B4 relay costs $2.50 each in 10,000-piece quantities.

Surface-Mount Tactile Switch Rated For 100,000 Actuations The Series CB3 surface-mount (SMT) pushbutton switch measures just 6 mm2. This tactile switch also is rated for over 100,000 mechanical and electrical actuations, as well as for logic-level applications at 50 mA at 24 V dc. Its special sealed-body construction prevents contaminants from compromising switch functionality. Completely washable, it's process-compatible with infrared reflow or convection soldering methods. The switches are available in a momentary action, single-pole/single throw circuit configuration. They can be ordered in tape and reel packaging,

In 1000-piece quantities, the CB3 switch costs $0.68 each.

Tiny Power Relay Designed For High-Density Placement The AZ756 PC-mount power relay includes standard PC connections for coil and contacts, along with quick-connects for the contacts. Its Simplak design takes up less than 0.6 in.2 of pc-board space, permitting high-density placement. Also, it features a 5-kV dielectric rating (contact to coil) and a 10-kV surge rating. A variety of coil voltages are available, from 5 through 48 V dc. According to its manufacturer, this relay is suitable for microwave ovens, copiers, stereo equipment, and vending machines.

Pricing starts at $1.26 in 1000-piece quantities.
