A new 14-slot full mesh backplane is headed straight for applications of the forthcoming PICMG 3.0 specification or AdvancedTCA (ATCA) applications. The backplane features integrated connectors for interfacing to a fan unit or dual shelf managers. The shelf manager interface is based on Intel ZT 7102 Chassis Monitoring Modules (CMMs), with software enhancements to support added AdvancedTCA functionality. The ATCA backplane measures 344 mm by 430 mm by 8 mm. Slot counts from two to 14 are available. Pricing for the ATCA backplane ranges from $500 to $5000, depending on slot count and architecture.
