Embedded Systems Conference, San Jose, CA. - Enlisting a Core 2 Duo processor and a GM965 chipset, the Express-MC800 computer on module (COM) enables high-end graphic tasks and computer-intensive applications such as video processing, biometrics, and data analysis and visualization. The processor and chipset combo provides the 32-bit 3D graphics engine of the X3100 GPU and a system bus operating at speeds up to 800 MHz. I/O options include support for five PCI Express x1 lanes, one PCI Express x16 lane, four PCI slots, one IDE port, three SATA ports, and up to eight USB 2.0 ports. The module also provides two SODIMM sockets for up to 4 GB of 533/667 MHz DDR2 memory. Samples are available now with production set for June.
