To improve power efficiency and graphics performance, embedded-computer-module manufacturer congatec integrated processor technology from the AMD Embedded G-Series SOC (system-on-chip) family into its latest single-chip solution. The conga-TCG module, part of congatec’s COM Express family, integrates the Jaguar-based processor and AMD Radeon graphics cores into a compact package. AMD Radeon graphics feature the Universal Video Decoder 4.2 for seamless processing of BluRay with HDCP (1080p), MPEG-2, HD, and DivX (MPEG-4) video. The computer-on-module (COM) also supports DirectX 11.1 and OpenGL 4.0 to accelerate 2D and 3D imaging and OpenCL 1.1. Interface options—VGA, single/dual-channel 18/24-bit low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS), DisplayPort 1.2, and DVI/HDMI 1.4a—make it possible to control two independent displays directly. In addition, DisplayPort 1.2 allows for multistreaming, enabling control of up to two displays per graphics port in daisy-chain mode. Four PCI Express x1 lanes (Gen 2), two USB 3.0 ports, eight USB 2.0 ports, two SATA 3-Gbit ports, and a Gigabit Ethernet interface introduce greater system expansion flexibility at high data bandwidth.
