The NL35 line of hard-disk drives now includes Serial ATA (SATA) and Fibre Channel support. The drives feature capacities from 250 to 400 Gbytes, as well as transfer rates up to 64 Mbytes/s with seek times under 9 ms. They're designed for enterprise use with 1-million-hour mean times between failures. The SATA interface operates at 1.5 Gbits/s. Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) tiered storage management is supported. The drives also target nearline storage applications such as disk-to-disk backup and recover, fixed content storage, and storage of reference data. Pricing will be under $1/Gbyte.
