With the intention of bringing core Internet connectivity and interoperability to consumer electronics, FirstView Connect 3.2 enables set-top boxes, DVD players, game consoles, PDAs, home Internet appliances, and smart phones to deliver real-time Internet media, content and services. The application is a standards-based Internet access and connectivity software stack engineered for connected digital devices. It boasts of the latest in multi-media capabilities, including the ability to blend on-disc and online enhanced DVD features. Standards supported include HTML 4.0, CSS 2.0, DOM 2.0, JavaScript, PersonalJava, and Macromedia Flash 5. Other features of the new app include a customizable graphical user interface (GUI), an integrated operating system with fast-boot BIOS for appliance-like functionality, and a small memory footprint.
