SBC Revives Legacy EBX Market

March 31, 2009
The LittleBoard 735 EBX SBC now incorporates Intel's Atom N270 processor, along with the 945GSE chipset, helping extend the EBX form factor.

Hoping to extend viability of the EBX form factor for as long as 10 more years, the LittleBoard 735 EBX SBC based enlists Intel’s 1.6-GHz Atom N270 processor. It pairs a “Navy Pier” platform, Atom N270 with 945GSE chipset with its Ampro by ADLINK Extreme Rugged design methodology to create a feature-rich upgrade path for previous end-of-life products. The LittleBoard 735 supports legacy features including a PCI-to-ISA bridge for full PC/104-Plus expansion, four serial ports, IDE, a CompactFlash socket, and embedded BIOS extensions. Additionally, the LittleBoard 735 uses a thick PCB and is designed to tolerate shock, vibration, humidity, and temperature extremes. The LittleBoard 735 SBC is priced below $600 each in OEM quantities and is sampling within 30 days.
