VirtualLogix Launches Virtualization Software For Handsets

Available for evaluation at no charge, the VLX Mobile eXperimentation (VLX-MX) Edition for handsets provides developers with the opportunity to try virtualization technology in mobile handsets and the ability to add functionalities on low-cost and smart phones using Linux. The software is fully functional and targets wireless devices using ARM 9 core-based system-on-chips. It allows a commercial or proprietary real-time operating system and the Linux operating system to run simultaneously on a single ARM926 core without the need for an extra application processor. VLX-MX is available to qualified customers for development purposes, but is restricted from product deployment. It is free to download and will be available on the company's website in March. VIRTUALLOGIX INC., Sunnyvale, CA. (408) 954-7350.
