Counterfeit awareness takes center stage at CARTS International

CALCE director Michael Pecht will deliver keynote address titled “Counterfeit Electronics—Sources and Solutions” at next month’s CARTS International 2012 in Las Vegas

The Electronic Components Industry Association (ECIA) announced in late January that Michael Pecht, Ph.D., will deliver the keynote presentation at the upcoming CARTS International 2012 conference, to be held March 26-29 at Bally’s Resort in Las Vegas. Pecht will speak Tuesday morning, March 27th. His presentation will “shed new light on electronics products counterfeiting and explore solutions to reduce counterfeit electronics from entering U.S. markets and critical products and systems,” according to ECIA.

Pecht is founder and director of the Center for Advanced Life Cycle Engineering (CALCE), the world's largest academic research center focused on electronics reliability. He is a widely recognized expert in strategic planning, design, test, IP, and risk assessment for electronic products and systems.

CARTS International is a technology conference for the passive electronic components industry. Leading industry experts present the latest information on advanced technologies and applications for:

  • Harsh environments and reliability
