The Quiet Cube series of one-piece, surface-mount soft ferrite cores utilizes the recently introduced cube-style ferrite design. These low-profile cores feature a high energy storage capacity, as well as current-handling capabilities up to 40A for operation at frequencies up to 1 MHz. The monolithic design of the cores eliminates the negative effects experienced during elevated temperature processing, such as shifts in inductance after reflow processing, and also eliminates the need for core-coil assembly. Typical applications include cell phones, dc/dc converters, automotive electronics, and voltage regulator modules intended for use with next generation microprocessors. Typical footprints range from 6.60 mm x 3.0 mm to 6.60 mm x 5.0 mm, with custom designs also available.
