For connecting microSD cards, the RoHS-compliant 2900 Series connector sports a 1.85-mm height, said to be one of the lowest in the industry, and measures 11 mm x 15 mm x 1 mm, with an actual footprint of 14 mm x 14.2 mm x 0.8 mm. The component offers a capture mechanism that prevents the memory card from flying out upon ejection, increasing card retention. The card locks when mated and can be removed using the push-push eject mechanism. Other features include a card-detection indicator to show if the card is in the device or not, a metal shielded cover that offers grounding and ESD protection, card polarization, and 15 micro inch gold contact plating. 3M ELECTRONICS, Austin, TX.
