Touted as the smallest circular connectors available for applications in military environments, the company’s size-2 version 8STM connectors can house up to five contacts in a 10-mm diameter and with a unit weight of 10g. Their contact clips employ plastic instead of metal to avoid electrical breakdowns between contacts via the clips and to enable the contacts to be set closer together. The connectors operate in temperatures from -65°C to +175°C and a version with cadmium protection withstands over 500 hours in salt spray. They stand up to impacts of 300g for 3s and their seal levels comply with IP67. The 8STM connectors are available in sizes 2, 4 and 6 for removable contacts up to size 26 and they provide a choice of four types of base: square with a flange, oval, nut type, and without flange (extension leads).
