Formulated for use on sensitive copper or other electrically conductive surfaces, the Permabond 581 and 681 acrylic adhesives are especially suited for bonding magnetic and metal surfaces. They are also said to provide reliable adhesion to ferrite, alnico, rare earth magnets, and other metals, setting rapidly at room temperature. Both adhesives are 100% solids, free of acrylic acid, non-flammable, and exhibit high shear and impact strength. They also require no post oven cure and emit little odor. And because they reportedly do not outgas acidic vapors during curing, the adhesives can be used in non-ventilated assembly operations. The 581 no-mix, surface-activated adhesive has an acrylic activator and sets in as little as 15 minutes. The 681 is a two-part, 1:1 mixable adhesive that requires no activator. It can fix parts in 30 to 60 seconds, cures to 90% strength in one hour, and to full strength in eight hours.
