For interfacing solar modules to dc/ac converters, the SOLARLOK interconnection system promotes rapid assembly using either hand tools or semi-automatic applicators. It employs silver-plated, copper-alloy contacts with a 25A rating at up to 50 mating cycles and is sealed to IP67 when mated with another SOLARLOK connector. Typical contact resistance is 1 mÙ or less. The contacts can be crimped onto 10,12, or 14 AWG stranded wire with a manual hand tool or semi-automatic stripper-crimper. Weatherproof housings are available in positive and negative polarity keying. With IP65 ratings, the SOLARLOK junction boxes provide internal quick connects and are available in two styles to accommodate either serial or parallel connections. The interconnection system also has a number of optional accessories, including latch clips and T-connectors and tools for stripping, crimping, and extracting contacts. A development kit with connectors and hand tools is available. TYCO ELECTRONICS, Harrisburg, PA. (800) 522-6752.
