For designs where weight is a concern and space is at a premium, the HMD series high-density connectors support PCB and cable-mount terminations and handle signal levels up to 4A. The components offer total environmental protection to moisture and provide salt-fog resistance. They employ plastic insulators with stainless steel hardware that are fully sealed. A potted back shell protects cable terminations while a shrouded insulator guards the pins. The PCB terminations are also sealed to eliminate the need for masking if a conformal coating is used. Available in 5-, 9-, 15-, 21-, 25-, 31-, 37-, and 51-way options with 0.6-mm diameter contacts and hyperboloid sockets, the series also features integral polarizing and jackscrew mating devices.
