Addressing the dimensional constraints of portable equipment, the 9257 series I/O connector system features a fixed SMT socket mounted on the PCB and provides cable termination with options of single- and double-sided contacts and single-row (eight-way) or dual-row (16-way) plug connections. A click design eliminates the need for latching and the standard SMT plug provides positive alignment and orientation of the plug and socket. The socket houses 16 contacts in two rows on a 1.25-mm pitch with a current rating of 1A per contact for 5,000 mating cycles. Customizations of the over-mould cover or other parts are available . Pricing typically starts at $1.85 each/10,000 with a lead-time of six to eight weeks. AVX CORP., Myrtle Beach, SC. (843) 946-0414.
