Providing safe disconnect capabilities between measuring transducers and safety equipment in current-transformer (CT) shorting applications, the ME test disconnect terminal blocks rely on a screw-free disconnect lever that provides visual indication of the switch’s position. The terminals are deployable wherever high currents must be reduced using current transformers and where high voltages are reduced with voltage transducers. To accomplish the safe disconnect, the user places disconnect terminal blocks before the meter for measurement and maintenance. Each terminal block includes a set of three bridging channels on either side of the disconnect lever. The pluggable shorting component can lock into one of the bridging channels and, even with the shorting component installed, two bridging channels remain available for use. All ME terminal blocks are available with screw, spring-cage, and push-in connections. PHOENIX CONTACT INC., Harrisburg, PA. (800) 322-3225.
