Addressing vibration issues, the company's UL male tab accepts both standard quick connectors and its patented FlatSnap, a snap-in unisex connector that is highly resistant to vibration. The FlatSnap connector is easier to connect, requiring a push-pull force of 4 lbs. to install, yet allegedly cannot come apart during assembly and shipping. Minute slots on the sides of the tab claim responsibility for this locking action. An additional plus is the connector offers more contact area than conventional UL male tabs. The UL male tab, tested as per UL 310, is available in 0.032" x 0.25" plus other sizes and fabricated from nickel-plated steel and a range of high-temperature alloys. Target applications include terminal blocks, switches, PCBs, and heating elements. Prices range from $15 to $300 per one thousand pieces depending upon material and quantity. ETCO INC., Warwick, RI.
