Introduced as an open-pin field version of VHDM, the VHDM L-Series connector employs an organizing stiffener that allows for customized connector configurations. Users can employ any combination of VHDM, VHDM-HSD, and VHDM L-Series connectors on the same connector for a mix of high- and low-speed connections. The connector is fully compatible with all VHDM components including power and guidance modules and is available in eight- and six-row configurations. The eight-row connector provides 101 signals per linear inch and the six-row configuration offers 76 signals per linear inch. Daughtercard wafers are available in five-column modules for mating with backplane modules in 10- and 25-column configurations. Backplane modules are available in open configurations or with optional polarizing and guidance. Available in June, pricing is $0.06 to $0.08 per mated signal line in production volumes.
