The PL-80090, a modular 1U rack-mount platform provides up to 15 x GbE and features a redundant power supply. It supports Intel quad-core processors with a 1,333-MHz Front Side Bus and Intel’s Virtualization technology. The platform supports two un-buffered ECC or non-ECC DDRII 800 DIMM slots with memory to 4 GB. Storage interfaces include two 3.5" SATA HDDs and CompactFlash. An optional Cavium Nitrox PX cn16xx security co-processor supports multi-security protocol commands and can offload the CPU to boost system performance. The platform supports seven GbE Copper and a maximum of eight GbE Ethernet ports via PCI-E x 4. To prevent network problems in the event of a platform shut-down, PL-80900 supports two segments of LAN bypass function through WDT and GPIO pin definitions. The front panel provides one GbE LAN management port, one USB 2.0 port, one RJ-45 console port, and LED indicators that monitor power and storage device activities. In addition, the PL-80090 supports one PCI-E x 8 slot and one PCI-E x 4 slot. Operating-system support includes MS DOS 6.22, Windows 2000/XP, Red Hat Linux 9.0, and Linux Fedora Core. Pricing for the PL-80090 starts at $1,739 each in OEM quantities. WIN ENTERPRISES INC., N. Andover, MA. (978) 688-2000.
