Many sensors can distinguish between contrasts- light vs. dark or gloss vs. matte- but Logipal color sensors are said to be capable of detecting fine variations in color. The devices are claimed to be extremely accurate in artificial and ambient lighting conditions and at high speeds. They’re offered in two- and four-channel versions.Teach-in adjustments are made using three buttons on the rear of the sensor. Up to four colors can be taught by pressing a button, and up to five levels of tolerances can be set separately for each channel. Sensing distance is 40 mm, spot size is 3 mm x 5 mm, and response time for color detection is just 300 µs.For mounting flexibility, the sensors can be rotated 180° for easy positioning and cable routing. Their compact, 50 mm x 50 mm x 2 mm housing allows for trouble-free installation in tight spaces. They’re useful wherever color is critical, including cosmetics and pharmaceutical packaging.
