The Type 12R2 with VME64X is the latest addition to the company's rugged COTS enclosure line. Based upon the same ruggedized, modular packing approach as the company's other standard 12R2 enclosures, the 12R2/VME64X is designed to meet MIL-S-167, MIL-S-810E and MIL-S-901D. The enclosure incorporates a 20-slot VME64X monolithic backplane using a five-row, 160-pin connector, J0 connector array, and backplane stiffener in a 9U-high, 22" deep chassis. Optimal cooling is achieved through front-to-rear airflow, using 2 x 470-CFM blowers. The chassis comes with a 1,328W PFC power supply, voltage indicators, three temperature sensors, IEEE 1101.10 compliant profiles, and card guides. Other features include MIL-grade components and system monitoring LEDs with standard off-the-shelf parts including aluminum flat frames and covers, ruggedized side plates, cross-functional extruded profiles, standard electrical components, and a wire harness to insure performance and reduce lead time.
