Hybrid Linear Actuators Include Encoder Feedback

Haydon Switch & Instrument’s size 8 hybrid linear actuators are available with encoder feedback. Their simplicity and low cost suit the encoders well for both high- and low-volume motion-control applications. The module integrates a lensed LED and monolithic photodetector array with signal-shaping electronics to produce two bounceless transistor-transistor logic (TTL) outputs. The encoder comes in resolutions from 120 to 330 cycles per revolution or 480 to 1200 pulses per revolution. The footprint is only 0.8 in. square. HSI also can design custom versions.
