In place of traditional contacts, the FP01 illuminated pushbutton switches operate using a photo interrupter, with the pushbuttons having a minimum life span of three million operations. A single photo transistor enables the pushbuttons to activate a momentary ON position, with the devices's rugged construction and smooth operation said to allow rapid, repetitive actuation anywhere on their actuator surface. The FP01 contactless, photo diode-activated pushbuttons feature bright LEDs and brilliant colored actuators, permitting the devices to be configured for either highly visible status indication or for subdued illumination for low light requirements. Applications range from gaming and vending machines to industrial control panels subject to harsh environmental conditions. The FP01 comes with a 6-pin socket and is snap-in mounted.
