Operating at switching frequencies up to 600 kHz, the AP880X Series step-down, DC/DC converters require just four smaller and lower cost inductors and/or capacitors and can drive up to 13 series-connected LEDs with a constant current from voltage sources between 8V and 48V and with efficiencies up to 92%. An integrated soft-start function reduces LED stress and extends lifetime. A choice between PWM and DC input dimming control increases design flexibility and all AP880X devices come in an industry-standard SOP-8L package. The AP8800 and AP8801 are also available in MSOP-8L packages and the AP8802 in exposed-pad DFN and SOP-8L packages. Prices range from $0.50 to $0.72 each/10,000. DIODES INC., Westlake Village, CA.
