Allegedly, the company's low-cost reference design platform for building laser mice based on Bluetooth technology enables manufacturers to create full-featured mice at a cost substantially less than that of existing solutions. The reference design combines Broadcom’s Bluetooth silicon and software with Avago Technologies’ LaserStream mouse sensor technology. The resulting devices offer high performance, one-click pairing, and over six months of battery life, making them well suited for Bluetooth-enabled notebook PCs. The reference design, co-developed by Broadcom and Avago, specifies everything a manufacturer needs to build a three-button laser mouse with a tilt scroll wheel.
