John Deere needed a rather big booth to show off its latest technology that included the See & Spray Ultimate (Fig. 1). It's a 120-foot sprayer that uses 36 cameras and 10 GPUs to differentiate weed from plant and spray only the weed, ultimately saving cost on herbicide. I was able to talk with Nancy Post, Vice President, Intelligent Solutions Group  at John Deere, about this and the company's other announcements.

Also on display was the company's ExactShot Planter (Fig. 2), a new system that places a seed precisely in the ground and puts the fertilizer directly on the seed, resulting in a 60% savings on fertilizer.

Finally, there was John Deere's electric-vehicle entry. It was the highly anticipated electric excavator (Fig. 3). Designed to operate in environments that demand quiet machinery, the excavator can reduce noise so it can run longer. John Deere aims to have an eight-hour battery life on the excavator.
