Introduced as having the capability to deliver data as fast as 333 MHz, new 9 Mb Quad Data Rate (QDR) SRAMs enable higher bandwidth in such applications as networking and telecommunications. The QDR memories increase bandwidth by supporting separate data inputs and outputs for read and write operations. Independent ports transferring data on both edges of the clock result in a quad-speed transfer of data. The new devices are configured as 512K x 18-bits and are packaged in a 165-ball fBGA package that is 37% smaller than the fBGA packages currently used for SRAMs. Available in a 2-word (CY7C1302V25) and 4-word (CY7C1304V25) burst versions, pricing is $44.95 each/1,000.
