With its focus on high-end automotive safety applications, the 32-bit V850E/RS1 microcontroller integrates a 40 MHz/54 MIPS controller core and dedicated safety features. These include a 10-bit, 16-channel a/d converter with auto discharge and diagnostic functionality, buffered clocked serial interface, and flash memory with hardware in-circuit error correction coding. Two versions of the MCU will be available, one with 256 KB of flash memory and 16 KB of RAM and the second with 128 KB of flash and 10 KB of RAM. Additionally, versions that are PPAP, AEC-Q100, and QS-9000 certified are also available. Samples in a 100-pin LQFP will be available in July with production scheduled for the third quarter of 2005.
