Integrating a high-speed 8051-compatible CPU and an 8-channel 24-bit ADC, the C8051F350 mixed-signal microcontroller is intended for precision measurement applications such as weigh scales, process control, and smart sensors. Based on the industry’s fastest 8051, the MCU processes at up to a 50 MIPS throughput rate running on a 50 MHz clock. The ADC has programmable analog data conversion rates up to 1,000 conversions/s and is complemented by dual 8-bit sensor-excitation DACs and an on-chip temperature sensor. The chip contains 17 flexible digital I/O pins that are 5V-compatible. On-chip serial communications peripherals include UART, SPI and SMBus ports. Also on chip is a precision internal oscillator that eliminates the need for an external crystal or resonator. An in-system debugging feature eliminates the need for an emulator. A complete development kit is available to immediately begin system design. The C8051F350 is packaged in a 32-pin LQFP or a 28-pin MLP. Pricing starts at $4.38 each/10,000.
