Kontron claims its COMe-mBT10 computer-on-module (COM) family delivers three times higher graphics performance than previous Intel Atom processors, as well as high thermal-design-power (TDP) values. The COM Express-based credit-card-sized COMs, which operate in the extended temperature range of −40 to +85°C, cover the entire embedded range of Intel’s Atom E3800 and Celeron N2900 and J1900 processor families. Seven module variants in the series scale from low-power, single-core Intel Atom (1.46 GHz/5 W TDP) performance for energy-sensitive applications to quad-core Intel Atom (4x 1.91 GHz/10 W TDP) and Celeron (4x 2.42 GHz/10 W TDP) performance in high-end applications. Intel Gen 7 HD graphics include DirectX 11, Open GL 3.1, and OpenCL 1.1 support for two independent displays with a DP++ (DP/HDMI/DVI) up to  2560 by 1600 at 60 Hz as well as a 18/24-bit single-channel LVDS with DPtoLVDS up to 1920 by 1200 (and optional eDP). The HD video technology also enables brilliant video reproduction and stereoscopic 3D viewing. Data-memory options include two 300-Mbit/s SATA II or versions with additional eMMC memory (up to 64 Gbytes). Furthermore, the modules incorporate two serial ports, USB 3.0, up to eight USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet, and three Gen 2 PCI Express x1 lanes.
