Hello,
Firstly - the Oregon Symphony does a film series where they play the musical score to a film playing on a large movie screen - worthwhile planning to attend if your travel itinerary to the area is a bit aritrary. Last Friday, we saw Pirates of the Caribbean, which got me confusing the day with International (Talk Like A) Pirate day which is this Friday. So, apologies for last week's Pirate Day newsletter link, which will continue to 404 until 9/19 (tomorrow) - it's a real product review for an automotive RGB LED, so a fun little writeup in Pirate-speak...link below for you to look at tomorrow.
James writes about Shaeffler's integrated traction inverter brick that incorporates Rohm's SiC MOSFETs. Interesting tech that integrates gate drive, DC link capacitor, and the power output stage.
Tektronix just announced a new flagship oscilloscope that has 4 channels, 25 GHz bandwidth and up to 125 Gsamples/sec. I dive into the design of this signal acquisition and processing platform and lightly touch on the specs, providing a full datasheet in the article.
Also, a couple of new components - a BJT and a MOSFET in thermally enhanced packaging.
And, lastly, some considerations in selecting battery chargers for forklifts and mobile eleveated work platforms.
enjoy,
-andyT
