By way of a special manufacturing process, the GRM18 series ceramic capacitors is fabricated with a dielectric layer measuring 1 µm thick. This process promises to produce high dielectric constant ceramic materials in the form of highly reliable, ultra-thin films, fine electrodes, submicron particles, and tight process controls to ensure quality. Rated for operation with voltages up to 4V, the component is said to achieve the highest capacitance for ceramic capacitors in a 0603 case size. Other features include a lead-free design. Samples are currently available at a price of $0.30 each. MURATA ELECTRONICS NORTH AMERICA INC., Smyrna, GA. (770) 436-1300.
