Targeting automotive electronics, the OAR series current-sense power resistors offer users a high-current, flameproof alternative to conventional axial components. The open-air, through-hole resistors consist of a custom resistive element with copper leads and integral stand-offs. Available power ratings include 1W, 3W, and 5W at 85°C with resistance values from 0.1W to 0.005W and tolerances down to ±1%. They feature TCRs as low as +20 ppm/°C, inductance values in the single-digit nH range, and an operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C. Custom resistors are also available. Prices range from $0.16 to $0.25 each depending on volume. IRC INC., Boone, NC. (828) 264-8861.
