Controlled over a serial peripheral interface (SPI), the quad CAT5401 and dual CAT5411 64-tap, nonvolatile digitally programmable potentiometers (DPPs) are capable of one million write cycles with a data retention of 100 years. Both are available in values of 2.5 kilohms, 10 kilohms, 50 kilohms, and 100 kohms. The devices operate with a single power supply from 2.5V to 6V and consume 1 µA in standby mode. Wiper resistance is 300ohms maximum with a 3V supply and 150ohms maximum with a 5V supply. Operating in commercial or industrial temperature ranges, the potentiometers are available in 24-lead TSSOP and SOIC packages, lead- and halogen-free SOIC and TSSOPs, and BGA packages.
