Switching power supplies and dc/dc converters are among the applications targeted by the new 4000 and 4100 series inductors. The surface-mount inductors employ a toroidal construction to ensure low leakage flux and exhibit continuous dc current ratings up to 8.1A and dc resistance values down to 14 milliohms. Devices in the 4000 series measure 14.10 x 14.22 x 8.76 mm and have inductance values from 3.3 to 330 mH, while 4100 series devices are 16.76 x 17.53 x 9.91 mm in size and offer 2.7 to 330 mH inductance values. Operating temperature range for both series is from -40°C to 85°C. The surface-mount devices feature UL 94V-0 packaging materials and are pick-and-place compatible. Pricing for the inductors begins at under $1 per device in OEM quantities. C&D TECHNOLOGIES INC., Tucson, AZ. (800) 547-2537.
