Expanding the company's family of over 35 digitally programmable potentiometers (DPPs), the CAT5126 32-tap digital potentiometer provides an alternative to mechanical potentiometers in applications where one-time calibration is required. The device offers one-time wiper programmability via a 2-wire serial interface, which allows users to set the wiper value after power-on and also disable the interface to prevent further adjustments. If the interface is not disabled, the system will power-on to the programmed wiper position, and users can change the position as necessary—the modified value will not be stored. The CAT5126 is available in 8-lead MSOP and TDFN packages with end-to-end resistance values of 10 kΩ, 50 kΩ, and 100 kΩ. Price is $0.53 each/10,000. CATALYST SEMICONDUCTOR INC., Sunnyvale, CA.
