Polymer Tantalum Cap Withstands 260°C Soldering

A new low ESR conductive polymer tantalum capacitor has been designed to withstand the higher temperatures required for lead-free soldering processes. The TCJ series capacitor is constructed using a conductive polymer cathode technology giving users the volumetric efficiency of tantalum, along with significantly reduced ESR, while effectively handling repeated 260°C solder processes. Suitable for high-frequency and high-speed digital circuits, the TCJ series capacitor is available from 4.7 to 150 µF, in voltage ratings of 4V, 6.3V and 10V and in A and B case sizes. Operating temperature ranges from –55°C to +125°C. Pricing ranges from $0.25 to $0.35 each/10,000, with lead times from eight to 10 weeks. AVX CORP., Myrtle Beach, SC, (843) 448-9411.
