Providing complete coverage in the 850 MHz to 965 MHz UHF band, the LXMS31 series MAGICSTRAP RFID tag applies directly to a PCB using glue or tape. The tag inductively couples to an antenna integrated on the PCB; therefore no electrical contact is necessary. Its circuitry provides the impedance matching necessary to cover UHF bandwidth in a single device that complies with the EPCGlobal C1 G2 standard. This also maximizes antenna range to a distance of five meters in some cases. Measuring 3.2 mm x 1.6 mm with a height of 0.7 mm, the tag also exhibits a high tolerance to ESD over 10 kV. Samples are available now with production set for the fourth quarter. MURATA ELECTRONICS NORTH AMERICA INC., Smyrna, GA. (770) 436-1300.
