Commonly used in power meters and other ac instrumentation and control equipment, this line of surface-mount chip resistors are designed for low-power ac circuits that meet the IEEE Std. 587. The resistors handle surge voltages of better than 10,000 volts. Values are available from 500 kiloohms to 10 Gigaohms, with value tolerance to 1/4%. TCR is as low as 10 ppm/c and VCR is less than 1 ppm/v. This allows the manufacturer to use this advanced design in a much smaller footprint. The devices are produced in a 2512 package and a larger 5012 package. Pricing for the 1 Megaohm 2512 1% is $0.48 each/10,000 with delivery in as little as four weeks. The firm also offers leaded resistors with what’s claimed as superior surge voltage handling.
