Debuting as a low-cost component, the PKU-E dc/dc converter in a standard sixteenth-brick format addresses distributed-power architectures in telecom-systems requiring compatibility with both battery voltages (24V) and fixed applications using 48V.

Debuting as a low-cost component, the PKU-E dc/dc converter in a standard sixteenth-brick format addresses distributed-power architectures in telecom-systems requiring compatibility with both battery voltages (24V) and fixed applications using 48V. The component offers an input range from 18V to 72V and sports a profile of 7.5 mm. Other features include a typical efficiency of 89.5% at 3.3V and 50% load with an input of 27V, 1.5 kVdc input-to-output isolation, DOSA compatibility, and a MTBF of 1.71 million hours according to Telcordia SR332, issue 1, black-box technique. Price in OEM quantities for the PKU-E is $15 each. ERICSSON INC., Plano, TX. (972) 583-0000.
