Extending the Z-One family of digital point-of-load (POL) converters, the ZY8160 can provide up to 60A of output current with an efficiency beyond 92%. The programmable dc/dc converter promises to reduce development time, component counts, and PCB

Extending the Z-One family of digital point-of-load (POL) converters, the ZY8160 can provide up to 60A of output current with an efficiency beyond 92%. The programmable dc/dc converter promises to reduce development time, component counts, and PCB traces by up to 90%. Programmable parameters include output voltages, sequencing, tracking, feedback loop compensation, and protection limits. Paired with a ZM7000 series digital power manager, the module eliminates external components for sequencing, tracking, protection, monitoring, and reporting. Its GUI enables ongoing monitoring of performance parameters and the ability for on-the-fly parameter changes without hardware changes at any time during system development or service. Available in a 61 mm x 10.4 mm x 28 mm SIP, pricing is $18 each/1,000. POWER-ONE INC., Camarillo, CA. (866) 969-3438.
