The SCTM series power modules are offered as smaller, pin-compatible replacements for industry-standard 1" x 2", 10W to15W dc/dc converters. They are said to provide cost savings, a 47% PWB space savings, and increased efficiency. Available in both through-hole and surface-mount packages with an input range from 18V to 35V, the modules convert a nominal 24V input to a regulated output voltage from 3.3V at 3.5A to 12V at 1.25A. The output is isolated from the input, enabling a variety of polarity configurations and grounding connections. The modules have a full load efficiency of 85% at 5V out and come in an open-frame package measuring 27.9 mm x 24.4 mm x 8.5 mm. Other features include short-circuit or output over-current/over-voltage protection, remote on/off, and output voltage adjustment. Price is $15.80 each/1,000.
