Entering its third generation, the Austin PicoTLynx Series non-isolated dc/dc converters. provide higher power, higher density, and a faster transient response than previous generations. The point-of-load (POL) converters include a tunable-loop feature that allows users to optimize the control loop to improve transient response and reduce the amount of external filtering. When the control loop is optimized using the feature on the 3A and 6A PicoTLynx, load transient response can be improved up to five times while using identical external capacitance. The converters are available in SMT packages measuring 12.2 mm x 12.2 mm x 6.25 mm. TYCO ELECTRONICS POWER SYSTEMS, Dallas, TX. (800) 526-7819.
