Consisting of modular front ends and dc/dc converters, the VIPAC family of power devices is said to offer a new concept in power supply customization with configuration flexibility, high power density, and high reliability. In addition to pre-assembled modules and converters, users also have a choice of mechanical platforms in sizes as low as 0.75”, as well as a variety of heatsinking solutions.
The modular front ends can be specified for operation from 48 Vdc or 115/230 Vac and incorporate FIAM or FARM modules for transient protection, EMI filtering, auto-ranging, and bridge rectification. A µP-controlled interface provides programmable output, sequencing, serial number readback, bus OK, bus-voltage monitoring, master enable, and real-time control of power-up and -down sequencing.
Available in standard full-, half- and quarter-brick packages, the dc/dc converters provide up to three independently regulated outputs of 1.8V to 48V at levels up to 900W. Other converter features include an output trimming range of 10% to 110%, output sequencing, over-voltage protection on all outputs, power densities up to 23 W/in.3, and no minimum load requirement. Prices start at $0.55/W, each/500.
