Smart Battery Isolators Thwart Draining Issues

Oct. 8, 2008
The smart battery isolators 48525 and 48530 promise to prevent loads on the auxiliary battery from draining the starting battery, offering a more flexible solution than traditional isolators since they’re not specific to an alternator type.

The smart battery isolators 48525 and 48530 promise to prevent loads on the auxiliary battery from draining the starting battery, offering a more flexible solution than traditional isolators since they’re not specific to an alternator type. According to the maker, the isolators are smaller, lighter, and generate less heat than comparable components. They reduce charging system workloads by not connecting to the auxiliary battery until the primary battery charges to 13.2V. As a result, there is less strain on the charging components. The smart battery isolators are available in 85A and 200A versions. For pricing, call COLE HERSEE CO., Boston, MA. (617) 268-2100.
