5-GHz Power Amp Boosts WLAN Data Apps

Dec. 1, 2000
Designed to help wireless LAN designers match the high data transmission rates commonly achieved by wired networks while exploiting the operating advantages of the 5-GHz spectrum, the RTPA 5250 is a wideband, high-efficiency power amp/switching module

Designed to help wireless LAN designers match the high data transmission rates commonly achieved by wired networks while exploiting the operating advantages of the 5-GHz spectrum, the RTPA 5250 is a wideband, high-efficiency power amp/switching module for WLAN data transmission applications in the 5-GHz range. Key features of the new device include fault gain with 7 dB headroom, integrated PHEMT switches and internal impedance matching. The module meets the provisions of IEEE 802.11 and Hiperlan/2. The amp's design is optimized to deliver 23.5 dBm output power at 1 dB compression while achieving a flat gain linearity of 40 dB.
