Laying claim to being the industry’s smallest, the ADP2121 500-mA buck regulator is available in a 1.3 mm x 0.9 mm WLCSP with a height of 0.6 mm. The device requires only two small capacitors and one small inductor, resulting in a 35% reduction

Laying claim to being the industry’s smallest, the ADP2121 500-mA buck regulator is available in a 1.3 mm x 0.9 mm WLCSP with a height of 0.6 mm. The device requires only two small capacitors and one small inductor, resulting in a 35% reduction in PCB area compared with current 3-MHz buck regulators. The ADP2121 also boasts the lowest-in-class FET on resistance, which enables a peak efficiency above 90%. Other features include input voltages ranging from 2.3V to 5.5V, and fixed output voltage options at 1.8V, 1.82V, 1.85V, and 1.875V. Price is $0.80 each/1,000. ANALOG DEVICES, INC., Norwood, MA.
