DC/DC Quells Quiescent Current

Dec. 6, 2010
Drawing a mere 1 µA of quiescent current, the AS1310 dc/dc converter handles light loads in the realm of 60 mA with an efficiency up to 92%.

Drawing a mere 1 µA of quiescent current, the AS1310 dc/dc converter handles light loads in the realm of 60 mA with an efficiency up to 92%. Even with loads as light as 100 µA, efficiency reaches 85%. The device operates from a 0.7V to 3.6V supply and provides output voltages between 1.8V and 3.3V. Other features include a shutdown mode in which it draws less than 100 nA. Available in an eight-pin TDFN measuring 2 mm x 2 mm, price for the AS1310 is $0.66 each/1,000.
